A 21 year old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin’s city centre.

He’s the second person to face charges in relation to the incident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Quham Babatunde, who was in his 30s, was found unresponsive with serious injuries in the area around South Anne Street and Duke Lane Upper shortly after 3am on Saturday.

He was brought to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

This morning Rory Carr of Ard na Greine, Seapoint Lane in Balbriggan appeared in court charged with assaulting Mr. Babatunde causing him harm.

The 21 year old was also charged with assaulting a second man and violent disorder.

The court heard he is not working and an application was made for legal aid.

There was no application for bail and Rory Carr was remanded in custody to appear in court until next week.

A second man was charged in connection with the incident yesterday while a third remains in custody in the North.

Reporting by Stephanie Rohan at the Dublin District Court.
