A husband and wife who died after a hit and run in west Dublin have been named locally.
Anthony Hogg, who was 40, and Georgina Hogg-Moore, who was 39 were struck by a car in Blanchardstown.
It happened on Blanchardstown Road North shortly before 6 o'clock yesterday evening.
Anthony Hogg who was seriously injured in the hit and run, has since passed away.
He's the second person to die, after Georgina Hogg-Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 40s was arrested yesterday evening, and is in custody at a Garda Station in Dublin.
He can be held for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí have completed a technical examination of the scene and the road has re-opened.
Investigators are continuing to appeal for information or video footage related to the crash.
