Michael Schumacher is in a critical condition after suffering a serious head injury while skiing yesterday.
The seven-time Formula One champion was taken to hospital in a coma following the accident in the French Alps.
The 44-year-old German driver was skiing off-piste with his son when he fell and hit his head off a rock.
He had been wearing a helmet.
Schumacher was airlifted to hospital in Grenoble where he was operated on soon after.
Early reports yesterday suggested his condition was not life-threatening as he had been fully conscious when airlifted to the hospital.
