Ruth Coppinger from the Socialist Party has won the Dublin West By-Election.
She was elected on the sixth and final count with a total of 12, 334 votes following the elimination of Sinn Fein's Paul Donnelly.
Fianna Fail's David McGuinness, who came second in the last by-election in 2011, was runner up on this occasion as well.
After topping the initial poll, Sinn Fein's Paul Donnelly was eliminated on the fifth count while Fine Gael and Labour came 5th and 7th respectively.
Ruth Coppinger will join party colleague Joe Higgins for her first day in the Dáil on Tuesday.
