A system error has led to thousands of drivers receiving cancellations for their tests.
Around 9,000 people are said to be affected by the false emails.
The Road Safety Authority has blamed an issue which arose while upgrading their technical systems for the fault.
It says anyone who received an email with the subject line 'Driver Testing Reminder' should ignore it.
The RSA is contacting all of those who have been impacted to confirm their test is unaffected.
It comes after the Junior Minister for Transport earlier this week acknowledged drivers were waiting too long for tests.
Jack Chambers has promised to cut the waiting times in 2024.
