Patients at the new National Children's Hospital will have their food and medicine delivered by robots.
There will be 76 "nutrient stations" around the hospital which the Automated Guided Vehicles will carry food trolleys to from the catering area.
According to the Irish Daily Star, a porter will then physically bring the food from the station to the patient.
The devices are already being used in hospitals around the world, as well as factories and warehouses.
The Italian company "Oppent" was awarded the contract for the service in 2021 at a cost of €2.2 million.
The much delayed hospital, that will cost €2.24 billion, is expected to be completed next year.
