The movies, ads and music videos shot in Ringsend over the years are being celebrated.
A plaque is being unveiled today in the area, that was used as the backdrop for the likes of "In the Name of The Father", "The General" and "Into The West".
Billy Ryan from the Ringsend and District Historical Society says Boyzone and The Cranberries also used the neighbourhood to film videos;
"Daniel Day Lewis, he was in my backyard, with about 50 other people as well as extras, police and RUC fellows and soldiers with guns, in our back yard."

Local resident Marie Saunders says film crews were a regular sight in the area;
"We didn't get much housework done when we were poking our nose out every five minutes to see what was going on. I had three or four young kids and next of all they were shoving chocolate in the letterbox to keep them quiet...happy days."
