A woman accused of murdering an elderly man in Ringsend has been refused bail by the High Court.
Sabrina Cummins from Ringsend Park was arrested along with her brother after Thomas Horan's body was found at his home last month.
Thomas Horan was found dead at his home in the Cambridge Court complex for senior citizens in the early hours of January 6th.
A murder inquiry was launched after a post mortem revealed the 63-year-old had been beaten and strangled to death.
Two days later, Sabrina and Kenneth Cummins, who both live near Mr. Horan were arrested.
The brother and sister were charged with his murder on January 10th and have been in custody ever since.
A person accused of murder must apply to the High Court for bail and Sabrina Cummins did just that yesterday.
Gardai objected to her application on a number of grounds including the seriousness of the charge she's facing and her application was refused.
If she wishes to pursue bail, she'll now have to appeal the High Court's decision to the Supreme Court.
