The Restaurant's Association of Ireland (RAI) says it will meet with Government officials on Wednesday, to discuss plans for the further easing of Covid restrictions across the hospitality sector.
The group will meet with representatives from the Department of Tourism and Enterprise as well as a number of state agencies.
In the meeting the RAI will discuss how Covid protocols are being implemented in businesses, any issues with protocols and possible amendments.
In particular the association wants to see the normal trading hours to resume as soon as possible.
Chief Executive Adrian Cummins says businesses want a plan for easing restrictions:
"Businesses want to see an roadmap to reduction and easing of restrictions.
"Obviously we will take the advice from public health at all times but we need to have a very clear roadmap for our industry in how we can lift all restrictions for indoor hospitality so that we can get back to normal trading."

Return to normal trading hours must be on the table for discussion plus a roadmap for winding down of restrictions under Public Health Advice— Adrian Cummins 🇮🇪🇪🇺 (@adriancummins) August 2, 2021
Indoor dining resumed last week and is open to people who are fully vaccinated or have had Covid-19 in the last six months. This is being monitered by hospitality staff using the Digital Covid Certificate (DCC).
Cummins says the implementation of the DCC for indoor dining has been a challenge for businesses.
"It is very difficult to implement because there is a lot of regulation that we need to abide by as part of the new protocols," says Cummins.
