Rents in Dublin soared by almost 13 per cent last year.
They increased nationwide by 13.7 per cent according to the latest study by Daft.ie
Nationwide the average rent now stands at around 1,700 euro however, unsurprisingly, rents in Dublin are much higher.
The average rent a month in the city centre will set you back almost 2,300 euro a month, while in the South of the County it's 2,564 euro and 2,108 euro in the North of the County.
The report by Daft.ie also points to a continued shortage of rental properties.
There were just over 1,000 homes available to rent nationwide on February 1st, down over 20% on the same date last year.
