The number of homeless people on the streets of Dublin is at its highest since lockdown began.
105 people received help from Inner City Helping Homeless last night.
The group assisted 77 men and 28 women sleeping rough, including providing food and hygiene supports.
The charity says many are struggling without basic cleaning facilities and the closure of coffee shops and restaurants.
ICHH CEO Anthony Flynn says: "The reality of the situation is that we are seeing further increases on the number of people who are rough sleeping. We have heard of increased numbers in terms of bed availability but accessing those beds and new registrations are a huge issue and many of those who are rough sleeping are doing so because of lack of social distancing within homeless services facilities. Many are sleeping in rooms with non family members which goes against the advice of the Chief Medical Officer. We must now test everyone that is being accommodated in homeless emergency accommodations across the country alongside on site staff."
He says many people would rather be on the streets than in shared accommodation.
With many of the day services closed alongside the likes of coffee shops, fast food restaurants and libraries it means people that are homeless have less toilet facilities to access.
