Around one in five new cases of Covid 19 are now the Delta variant.
The strain, which first originated in India, is more transmissible even outdoors.
But the Government says while they’re keeping an eye on it - July’s further reopening remains on track.
All three party leaders remained cautious but positive on their way into the Government’s weekly Cabinet meeting at Dublin Castle.
39 people are currently being treated for covid in hospital, which is the lowest figure since September 1st.
