A rain warning has been issued for Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow and Meath.
The status yellow alert came into effect at 8am and will remain in place until 9pm.
Met Eireann says spells of heavy rain are forecast with a risk of spot flooding.
There'll be highs of 9 to 11 degrees in Dublin today Light westerly breezes will veer north to northeast this morning and will gradually freshen this afternoon.
Tonight is expected to be mostly cloudy with more showery rain. Lows of 4 to 7 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds.
