Residential property prices increased at a higher rate outside Dublin, compared to the capital in the year to May.
CSO figures show nationwide they rose by 5.5%, up from 4.6% in the year to April.
The price of a new home or apartment increased by 6.2% outside the capital in the year to May.
CSO figures show prices in Dublin during the same period prices rose by 4.9%.
When combined the national price rise was 5.5%.
The highest house price growth in Dublin was in South Dublin at 6.6%, while Fingal saw a rise of 4.3%.
Outside Dublin the region that saw the largest rise in house prices was the Border at 10.7% , while at the other end of the scale the South West saw a 1.1% rise.
