The President has arrived in London for a State Visit.
Michael D Higgins is the first ever Irish President to make an official visit to the UK
This afternoon before he left Dublin the President said he hoped state visits between the UK and Ireland would become more common in future.
The President said he was a great honour for him to be able to speak about significant issues on such a historic occasion.
