Dublin Simon Community says 71 per cent of it's rough sleeping interventions last year were prompted by alerts from the public.
People can report a rough sleeper via homelessdublin.ie and staff from Dublin Simon Community will go to the location to offer support.
The organisation says information from the public is hugely valuable during the pandemic as many rough sleepers have moved location.
Head of Emergency Services at Dublin Simon Community, Claire McSweeney, says every alert is followed up on:
"Those alerts come in via the website and they go straight to our outreach team.
"Usually our turnaround time is no more than two hours."
71% of our rough sleeping interventions are thanks to alerts from you, the public. With #StormEllen approaching, please get in contact with us if you see someone sleeping rough by filling in this form https://t.co/w1vHEkqtMC or calling Dublin Outreach on 01 872 0185.
