Penneys Rathfarnham is closing down.
The fast-fashion retailer says the store will shut its doors for the final time in February 2020.
The company is blaming the decision on its Rathfarnham store being close to its locations in Nutgrove and Dundrum.
"In light of these factors, and as the lease is due to expire in Rathfarnham", the company has decided to shut up shop.
All employees in Penneys Rathfarnham are being offered positions at other stores nearby.
Local TD, John Lahart, has described the upcoming closure as a "massive blow for the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre".
Deputy Lahart said he will be "doing all I can to ensure that a new tenant is found for the premises ASAP".
