The Dublin International Film Festival gets underway today.
Paul Mescal and Aidan Gillen are among those due to attend on what has been a great year for Irish film. Emily Watson and Jane Seymour are also due to attend.
Sixteen new Irish features and documentaries will receive premieres over the course of the festival.
The festival’s Director, Grainne Humphreys, says there's great hype about the festival because of all the Oscar nominations.
''What's lovely about this year is that we're celebrating our 21st year, but we're obviously waiting anxiously to see the result of the Oscars. So there really feels like there's an energy about our local filmmakers and our local talent.''
The festival runs today and is on until March the 4th. It's funded by the Arts Council of Ireland.
