Tech giant Patreon has announced it will close its Dublin office after just three years in operation.
The online platform for creators is also closing its base in Berlin with the loss of 80 jobs between both locations.
In a note sent to staff, CEO Jack Conte said the layoffs were a last resort and he was deeply so the people leaving the company.
The platform's European headquarters only opened on Thomas Street in the capital in 2019.
Jack Conte says: "We are closing our Dublin and Berlin offices, and continuing operations in Porto. In the case of Dublin, we are consolidating our engineering teams in the US to improve collaboration and efficiency, as nearly all of our engineering teammates are located in our US offices.
"We are offering our nine Dublin engineering teammates relocation packages to join these US-based teams."
