There are reports that the government is planning an embarrassing overhaul of the Personal Insolvency Service after just three months of it being up and running.
The service was set up to help people who have no hope of repaying their mortgages or personal debt, and took two years to devise.
Now it has emerged that the Justice Minister is going to revamp the system to bring in line with what they have in the UK.
Legal Editor with the Irish Independent Dearbhail McDonald outlines what's currently wrong with the service:
"Even though it was set up last year, we have had a very very low uptake of the scheme, largely because - even though there's teething problems with any new system - it's overly bureaucratic, it's costly, and it's too complicated."
