Over a million euro worth of drugs seized in Drogheda

Over a million euro worth of drugs has been seized in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Three men have been arrested.

Gardai from the National Drugs Unit stopped a car in the Drogheda area yesterday afternoon.

They discovered a quantity of drugs and arrested a 28 year old man.

In a follow up operation this morning, a second car was stopped and an apartment was searched.

Two men, one in his thirties and one in his fifties, were arrested and a further quantity of drugs was seized.

In total cannabis herb, cannabis plants, cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of over 1 million euro was seized.

A 28 year old man is appearing before a Special Sitting of Ardee District Court this afternoon charged in connection with this seizure.

The two other men are in custody at Drogheda Garda Station.
