Refurbishing the new Garda station on Dublin's O'Connell Street will cost over €1 million.
It's expected to be completed during the first three months of next year after work began in October.
It followed a parliamentary question from Social Democrats TD Catherine Murphy about how much the Office of Public Works will spend on the refurbishment and fit-out of the new Garda premises at 13 Upper O’Connell Street.
Minister Patrick O'Donovan confirmed the total estimated cost of the project is €1.1m, which will be jointly funded by the OPW and An Garda Síochána.
It will include a public reception and interview rooms for members of the public or victims of crime, and a separate office for use by the Irish Tourism Assistance Service (ITAS).
The capital's main thoroughfare has come in for criticism in recent months over anti-social behaviour, open drug dealing and assaults.
