A psychiatric nurse will be sentenced today for stabbing three people after a row with his neighbours in Tallaght.
Last November Brian Quinn, formerly of Deer Park Avenue, Kiltipper was found guilty of carrying out the attacks in October 2011.
Ahead of his trial last November, Brian Quinn denied charges of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm, assault causing harm and pulling a knife.
The attacks happened following his neighbour's 18th birthday party in Kiltipper, Tallaght.
His defence claimed Mr. Quinn's partner was attacked by a number of drunken men outside his home and that they barged in after he pulled her inside.
The jury was told he acted in self-defence but lawyers for the state said it would be a "giant leap" to reach that conclusion given the injuries inflicted.
Following his trial and after seven and a half hours of deliberations, a jury found him guilty of carrying out the attacks.
He has been in custody since his conviction and will find out later today what kind of a sentence he's facing.
