There are almost 26,000 households on the social housing waiting list across Dublin.
The numbers have fallen by more than a quarter since 2016.
25,797 households were waiting for a council house across the four Dublin local authorities as of November 17th last year.
That's a 27% reduction compared to 2016 when there were 35,572 applications. Last year the numbers on the list fell by 3% or 856 households.
Dublin city accounts for the biggest number, with 12,709 waiting for a home, followed by Fingal which had 5,589 on its list.
That was followed by South Dublin with 5,062, while Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown had 2,437 households waiting for a home.
Nationally, 59,247 households were assessed as being qualified for social housing support as of November 17th 2021, down 2,633 from 61,880 households on November 2nd 2020. This figure is a reduction of 32,353, or 35.3%, since 2016.
