The National Public Health Emergency Team says it wants to see the restrictions in place in Kildare lifted as soon as possible.
It's meeting today to specifically review the local measures, which are due to remain in place until Sunday week.
22 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kildare yesterday, as the county remains under localised restrictions. It's the second highest instance of cases by county after Dublin.
Chief Clinical Officer at the HSE and member of NPHET Dr Colm Henry says Kildare is still not in line with the rest of the country:
"The two week instance is much higher than the national average."
The Acting Chief Medical Officer stated yesterday that the desire is to realign Kildare with the rest of the country as soon as possible.
The local restrictions are not due to expire for another 10 days.
