Nine People Rescued from Fire in Bray

Nine people have been taken to hospital following a fire in Bray.

The alarm was raised shortly before 5am.

Fire crews from Bray and Greystones, backed up by Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the incident at an apartment building on the Lower Dargle Road.

Nine people were rescued and treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics.

Gardaí were requested to close the road as fire crews battled the blaze.

They have all since been taken to hospital.

Local Sinn Féin TD John Brady has praised firefighters for their work and says there were "no extremely serious injuries".

Fire crews from Dún Laoighaire and Greystones have left the scene, while Bray firefighters remain there.
