Semi-permanent welfare areas, where people can get help on nights out, are to be established in Dublin city centre by the end of the year.
It's part of efforts by the capital's new night-time economy advisor to improve the late-night offering.
Ray O'Donoghue says discussions are also underway to run more late-night Luas services throughout the year;
"The idea would be to potentially look at a calendar of events or a calendar of nights throughout the year. So it may not be fifty weekends of the year, it may be ten or twenty weekends, something along those lines."
Speaking at a meeting for city councillors, he says safe zones, that were piloted on Culture Night, are to be rolled out;
"Basically an area where people, maybe they've had too much to drink, they might have had a bad night out or something, but they've a safe environment, somewhere where they can go."
He says it would include a medic, security and a welfare officer.
