A mural of Ireland's Chief Medical Officer has appeared on the front of a Dublin pub.

The artwork on Devitts bar on Camden Street has Tony Holohan emerging from a phone box.

The mural sees the public health doctor opening his shirt with the letters TH on the inside, similar to Superman.

It was painted by artist Niall O'Loughlin and features the hashtag "soon".

He told 98fm news that Tony Holohan has become a bit of a sex symbol;

"Some of the comments on my Facebook and social media feeds are like oh my god I told you he's gorgeous, he's this, he's that you know. I won't say he's a ride, all that kind of stuff."

It's not the only Covid-19 artwork that has appeared in Dublin during the pandemic.

Emmalene Blake has created a number of murals in recent weeks, one of which was shared by rap artist Cardi B.
