Revenue officers have seized over 89,000 cigarettes, almost 40 kilograms of tobacco and €4,600 in cash.
The seizure was made yesterday following the search of a premises in the Dublin 7 area Revenue were assisted by detector dog Bill and An Garda Síochána
The seized cigarettes and tobacco, of various brands, had an estimated retail value of more than €94,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €74,000.
Two men, in their 50s and 70s, and two women, in their 30s and 50s, were questioned.
These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply of illegal tobacco products.
