The mother of a young drug dealer who was shot dead while pushing his baby in a buggy has told a jury that he spoke to her about owing money for drugs.
She was giving evidence in the trial of Wayne Cooney, from Glenshane Drive in Tallaght, who is on trial for the murder of Jordan Davis in 2019.
It is the prosecution’s case that Wayne Cooney shot Jordan Davis three times as he was out for a walk in Darndale with his 4mth old baby.
He’s also accused of having a gun and 9mm bullets in his possession on the day of the shooting.
It is the prosecution’s case that Mr Davis was killed over a €70,000 drug debt.
His mother, Sandra, told the jury today that she was aware he was selling drugs.
She said her son always seemed to have a lot of cash and would buy lots of nice clothes and had the best of everything.
The jurors also heard about WhatsApp exchanges between Jordan and another suspected drug dealer, during which he was told he owed €70,000.
In this exchange, Jordan received a message that read, “Trust me, I’ll get you soon.” This was followed up with what the prosecution say was a threat to kill him.
Mr Cooney has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
