Plans to give Moore Street a major face-lift have been given final approval by Government.
The Heritage Minister says he hopes a new commemorative centre will be open in time for the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
Jimmy Deenihan said his decision will "secure the future of one of the most important sites in modern Irish history. Together with the interpretive centre planned for the GPO, the Moore Street commemorative centre will provide a key focal point for our commemoration of the events, the people, and the sacrifices they made in 1916."
A number of tweaks have been made to the original plan, but it looks like the Paris Bakery will be forced to close.
Buildings 14 through to 17 are protected and will be preserved, as they were central to the Last Stand, but it's understood building number 18 - which is where the Paris Bakery currently stands - will be partly knocked.
It's believed the plan is to create a new street which will connect Moore Street with O'Connell Street.
