Senior Ministers will meet later to discuss options for this year's Leaving Cert.
They'll also be updated about ongoing negotiations for the return of special education this month.
It's unlikely there will be any immediate announcement or clarity on what the Leaving Cert will look like this year or when exactly schools will re-open.
Negotiations
A group of senior Ministers will discuss the issues later and update the cabinet tomorrow - but discussions and negotiations with unions and interest groups are likely to continue and may even run into next week.
Many students have called for calculated grades for the Leaving Cert, though some want to sit an exam.
The unions - the ASTI and the TUI - have both called for full physical exams to take place.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the preference is for a combination of calculated grades and written exams, but the government is still working out how exactly that can be done.
