The independent TD Mick Wallace has been arrested for not paying a fine after a security breach at Shannon airport in July 2014.
The Wexford politician and TD Clare Daly scaled a fence at the facility, breaching airport regulations during a protest.
The Wexford deputy was arrested by Gardai in Clontarf this morning after the deadline to pay the €2000 fine ran out.
He was questioned at Limerick Prison, and released just after 4PM.
He had been facing Christmas behind bars.
