Medical cards will top the agenda today at a meeting of the Public accounts Committee.
Director General of the HSE Tony O'Brien and Dr Ambrose O’Loughlin the Secretary General of the Department of Health, will appear before the body to answer questions on the number of discretionary cards that are being returned to people.
Details of the HSE's current financial situation, along with ways to deal with the budget deficit will also be up for discussion.
