Security for Priory Hall is set to cost Dublin City Council a further 360 thousand euro this year.

The figure is on top of the 10 million set aside to refurbish the condemned complex.

Last October the government announced a 10 million euro plan to bring the fire trap apartments in north Dublin up to scratch.

4 million will be spent upgrading the complex this year while the council will also fork out 360 thousand euro to pay for security.

The costs are contained in the councils 2014 - 2016 capital programme.

Councillors will vote on this budget at a meeting after the local elections.
