All those in position of authority need to lead by example when it comes to observing Covid 19 rules, according to the Sinn Fein leader.
Mary Lou Mc Donald was responding to images of the Taoiseach meeting up with friends in the Phoenix Park.
Yesterday, a spokesperson for Leo Varadkar said he was in the park on Sunday with his partner and two friends in line with public health guidance.
Deputy McDonald says leaders have a responsibility not to add confusion to existing rules being observed by the public:
"I did understand that the advise was not to have picnics. Now I know that people are having picnics but I just take the general view that for the head of government, for anybody in elected office, you need to add clarity not confusion."
