Marie Fleming - the woman who lost a landmark "right to die" case this year - has died.
The 59-year-old had suffered from multiple sclerosis since being diagnosed in 1989 and took her case to the Supreme Court earlier this year.
She was in the final stages of MS and said she wanted to die at a time of her choosing and in the arms of her family.
She was trying to win a legal battle which if successful would have meant her partner was immune from prosecution, had he helped her take her own life
Her lawyers arguing that the ban on assisted suicide breached her constitutional rights but the Supreme Court ruled against her.
It's believed 59 year old Marie passed away this morning.
