A murder investigation has been launched after a man's body was found at a house in Dublin 8.
His remains were discovered at a bed-sit at Herberton Park in Rialto at around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
The man was in his 60s and it's understood he sustained a number of injuries and died violently.
A man in his 30s was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin.
The scene remains preserved this morning for a forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. A post-mortem will be conducted by the Office of the State Pathologist later today.
An incident room has been established in Kilmainham Garda Station and Gardaí say a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed and continues to liaise with the family of the deceased.
