A man who dropped his child to fight a taxi driver in a road rage attack in Dublin has been jailed.
Robert Garwe, of College View apartments, Ballymun swung a lock and chain at the victim just over two years ago.
On November 22nd 2011, Mr. Garwe was bringing his young daughter to creche.
She was strapped to the back of his bike when he cut across his victim's taxi as he tried to park outside a Supervalu branch in Ballymun.
The court heard a row broke out and the Zimbabwe native dropped his bicycle with no regard for his daughter's safety and headbutted the driver.
The two men began fighting and Mr. Garwe picked up his bike lock and chain and swung it at his victim's head and fractured his skull.
Two years on, the driver, whose wife and three young children were in the car at the time, told Gardai he's still very upset by what happened.
Mr. Garwe claims he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder due to the backdrop of civil war and intertribal violence in his home country.
By not dealing with this, Judge Ring said he put himself and others at risk.
She then sentenced him to three and a half years in jail with the final 18 months suspended.
