A man has appeared in court charged with murder following a gun and knife attack in West Dublin on Christmas Eve.
22-year-old Michael Andrecut gave no response to the charge.
Michael Andrecut with an address at Sheephill Avenue in Corduff, Dublin 15 arrived to court this morning wearing a black Puma hoodie and navy tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Mark Murphy told the court that the 22-year old stood charged with murder following an assault at a premises on Blanchardstown’s Main Street at approximately 8pm on December 24th.
Detective Sergeant Murphy says Mr. Andrecut was arrested last night at 11:42pm and formally charged at 11:47pm at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
Mr. Andrecut gave no response when cautioned.
Appearing on behalf of Mr. Andrecut, solicitor Ryan Tunney requested legal aid for the accused, which was subsequently granted by Judge Stephanie Coggins.
He will appear before Cloverhill District Court via video link on Tuesday, the 2nd of January at 9am.
