A man in his twenties is due in court this afternoon in connection with an assault in Meath.
A six week old girl was seriously injured at a house in Ashbourne yesterday morning.
A woman in her twenties also suffered minor injuries.
The newborn has been taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital.
She is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
A man is due to appear before Trim District Court this afternoon.
