A man has been stabbed to death in Tallaght.
Gardaí were called to the scene in the Castle Park area shortly before 9pm last night following a disturbance.
They discovered a man in his 40s with suspected knife wounds who later died at the scene. A 19 year-old man was arrested at the scene.
The property was preserved overnight, pending a forensic examination.
A Garda spokesperson says; "Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 40s following an incident in Tallaght, Dublin 24 on Monday 11th December 2023.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted shortly before 9pm to an incident at a residence in the Castle Park area of Tallaght.
A male in his 40s was treated by Emergency Services personnel but was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. His body remains at the scene which is preserved pending forensic and technical examination.
An adult male was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.
