Two men have died in diving accidents in Cork and Donegal.
In Cork, the man had just completed a dive near Roches Point at the entrance to Cork Harbour yesterday evening at around 6pm, when he became ill.
Members of the Crosshaven RNLI lifeboat crew were tasked to the scene and began to administer first aid, but the man was unresponsive.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital - where he was later pronounced dead.
Press Officer with the Crosshaven RNLI Jon Mathers says the man was with other experienced divers so it's still unclear what went wrong:
While in Donegal, a 45 year old man was airlifted to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry this morning were he was pronounced dead.
A group of divers raised the alarm at around 10 to 8 this morning. They were about four miles North of Malin Head, told the coastguard that one of their crew had got into difficulty.
The men - who are all of Polish origin but living in Ireland - were searching a wreak about 43 metres deep.
The Coastguard - along with Lough Swilly RNLI - attended the scene.
Meanwhile, Irish Water Safety is warning people to stay safe while enjoying our beaches, lakes rivers and canals.
John Leech from the group says it's always best to swim in lifeguarded waterways:
