Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man who was found with serious injuries at a Dublin apartment over the weekend later died.
Officers say the fatal assault is understood to have happened sometime between Saturday and the early hours of Sunday morning.
At approximately 3am on Sunday, Gardaí were alerted by National Ambulance Service personnel to reports of a man in his 30s with serious injuries at an apartment in Lucan.
He was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment, and died yesterday evening.
Gardaí are appealing for information.
They say the man travelled via taxi from the Allenton area in Tallaght to an address in the Shackleton area of Lucan in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Anyone who was in either of those areas is asked to come forward.

A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal assault that is understood to have occurred sometime between Saturday, 6th January 2024 and the early hours of Sunday morning, 7th January 2024.
"At approximately 3.00am, Gardaí were alerted by National Ambulance Service personnel to reports of a male (aged in his 30s) with serious injuries at an apartment in Lucan, County Dublin.
"The man was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of his injuries. He passed away yesterday evening, Sunday 7th January 2024 at approximately 6.30pm.
"The services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested by investigating Gardaí and a post-mortem is expected to take place today, Monday 8th January 2024.
"An incident room has been established at Lucan Garda Station and this investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer.
"Gardaí are appealing to the public for information in relation to this incident.
"An Garda Síochána can confirm the injured male travelled via taxi from the Allenton area in Tallaght, Dublin 24 to an address in the Shackleton residential area of Lucan, County Dublin in the early hours of Sunday morning, 7th January 2024.
Any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of Allenton, Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Shackleton, Lucan, County Dublin at this time and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available.
