A man has died after being hit by a jeep in south Dublin.
The collision happened on Johnstown Road in Cabinteely at approximately 7.10 pm last night.
The pedestrian, who was in his 60s, was fatally injured during the crash. His body was removed to the mortuary at St. Vincent's University Hospital.
The male driver of the jeep, aged in his 20s, did not require medical attention.
Garda Forensic Collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene overnight.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on Johnstown Road between 6.30 pm. and 7.15 pm. are asked to make the footage available.
