Several men have told the trial of a Chinese man accused of running brothels in the capital that they paid for prostitutes at two of his rented flats.

Di Wei, of Dolphin's Barn, South Circular Road, denies allowing prostitutes use apartments in Rathmines and Custom House Harbour.

Di Wei is accused of allowing the two apartments to be used as brothels over the course of several months in 2011.

The 31-year-old admitted buying condoms for women living in the apartments, but claims they were to be sold as part of an online business.

Several men have given evidence of using prostitution services at the apartments.

One said a Chinese girl dressed in her underwear answered the door to the Rathmines flat after he responded to an ad for a massage parlour.

Another told the court he was directed to the flat after ringing a number on the Escort Ireland website.

Both men say various sex acts were performed on them after they handed €100.

One of them said he was offered a condom but told it was no problem if he didn't want one.

The trial continues before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
