A man has appeared in court charged with attacking a 38-year-old man with a hatchet in the inner city over the weekend.
Paul Doyle is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit in the face at an apartment just off Dorset Street in the early hours of yesterday.
Jonathan Donovan of Cherryfield Lawns, Clonsilla is charged with assault causing harm and producing a hatchet in the course of a fight.
A bail hearing is due to be heard shortly.
