A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a suspected hit and run in Clondalkin.
A pedestrian, also in his 20s, was hit by a van on Cloverhill Road at around a quarter to 2 yesterday afternoon.
The van failed to remain at the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The man arrested is currently being held at a Garda Station in South Dublin for questioning.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out yesterday and the road has since reopened to traffic.
Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have video footage.
