A man's been arrested in connection with the discovery of the body of Maria Carroll in Firhouse, south Dublin last Sunday.
The alarm was raised at 1:30pm when the body of the woman who was in her late 50s was discovered at a house at Woodlawn Park Grove.
Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene and the woman was pronounced dead.
Her body was removed to Tallaght hospital where a post mortem was carried out to determine the cause of death.
Last night a 58 year old man was arrested in the Dublin area in connection with the investigation.
He is currently being detained at Rathfarnham garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
