A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Ashling Murphy.
The suspect in his 30s was arrested today.
The 23 year old teacher was killed last Wednesday while out for a run at a canal bank near Tullamore, Co Offaly.
The man was arrested in a Dublin hospital earlier today, after being treated for self-inflicted stab wounds and other injuries.
The suspect is being detained at Tullamore garda station where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
